ASH WEDNESDAY The beginning of the Holy Season of Lent is Wednesday, February 26th. This is one of the two days of the year when Catholics are obligated to observe the laws of fast and abstinence. The Mass times are 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please make every effort to attend with your family.
SPECIAL COLLECTION The collection on Ash Wednesday is for Aid to Eastern Europe. Please respond generously.
LENTEN SERVICES On the Fridays of Lent, we will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m.
LENTEN REGULATIONS Catholics who are over the age of 18 and under the age of 60 are required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, which means that they can eat only one complete meal and two smaller meals during the day, with no food in between. Catholics who are over the age of 14 are required to refrain from eating any meat, or any food made with meat, on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays during Lent.
K OF C FISH FRYS The Islands Council Knights of Columbus will hold their annual Lenten Fish Frys at St. Peter the Apostle parish center on Friday, March 20th AND April 3rd from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Come and join us for a delicious meal and community fellowship. All proceeds go to the K of C Islands Council charities.
