The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is Wednesday, December 8th and is a Holy Day of Obligation. In 1854, Pope Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception and stated: “The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin.” Masses will be celebrated here at St. Peter’s at 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. (Please note the time change).
