Events Calendar

St. Peter the Apostle Parish and School will be closed at least through Tuesday, September 12th.  At this time it is uncertain when we will return as it all depends on what effect Hurricane Irma has on our fair city.  Please everyone stay safe and we will be praying for all of you and your loved ones. God Bless!

The following is a letter from Bishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Savannah:

Dear Faithful of the Diocese of Savannah,

Peace and all good things!

Due to Hurricane Irma having the Georgia coast in its path, Governor Deal has issued a mandatory evacuation beginning Saturday for everyone east of I-95.

Given this mandatory evacuation, all Catholics in parishes east of I-95 should not expect Mass on Saturday evening, September 9th, and Sunday, September 10th, so that the priests also might participate in the mandatory evacuation. The faithful who have evacuated should find Mass where you are. Should you be traveling and still in the midst of evacuation, you are dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass this weekend of September 9-10, 2017.

Be assured of prayers for everyone affected by Hurricane Irma and those in her path. Be safe!

I am united with you in your concern for life and property as this storm approaches. Let us pray together that everyone remains safe and whole.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Bishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv.

Bishop of Savannah
