First Penance and First Communion Preparations
Dear First Communion Parents:
Below is a list of important dates and information concerning your child’s First Penance and First Holy Communion. Please take a few minutes to read the information. Please have all forms returned to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
First Penance: February 18, 2010 Please have your child in the chapel no later than 6:10 p.m. Clothing: Children should wear appropriate church clothes. No jeans, please!
First Holy Communion Mass: May 8th, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Church. Children having individual pictures taken should meet in the church at 8:30 a.m. Children not having an individual picture need to meet in the daily chapel by 9:00 a.m. The group picture will be taken before Mass, so all children need to be in the church by 9:00 a.m. A reception will held be for children, families, and friends in the Parish Center following Mass.
Practice: May 6th, 2010 from 4:00-5:15 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church. Children attending St. Peter the Apostle School will be supervised after school until 4:00 p.m. It is imperative that all children attend this practice as it is the only time they practice as a group.
Individual reception of the Sacrament: If you wish to have your child receive Holy Communion with your family, please indicate on the attached form the date and Mass time. Even if your children receives individually, he/she will still receive with the group at the First Holy Communion Mass.
Clothing: Girls are to wear a white veil and a white or pastel dress. (Veils may be purchased locally at Saints and Shamrocks, 309 Bull St. ) Boys should wear dress pants with a white or pastel colored shirt and a tie (tie can be of any color). All children are to wear dress shoes–no sneakers please.
Picture forms: Forms for pictures will be available at practice on May 6th, 2010 and payment should be made at that time. Please make checks payable to Photography by Lori for pictures. The price for pictures is as follows: Two 5 X 7 individual pictures and one group picture (8x10) @ $12.00 or just a group picture @ $8.00
